Our Goal

Sustainable Lodging

We are committed to being environmentally responsible, building and living. Below is a list of some of the green techniques we will incorporate during the renovation of the hotel. We will also explore solar and sourcing technologies that will work well in Nevada.

Native Plants
To allow for a beautiful landscape without additional water needs, we will choose native and native-like plants for our landscaping.

Water Efficient Systems
For our bathroom fixtures, we will use low-flow faucets and shower heads, as well as, ultra high-efficiency Niagara flapperless toilets (1.28 gpf). Our hot water boiler room and future in-house linen washing room will utilize as little water as needed to take care of you!

LED Lighting
Our newly replaced fixtures throughout the hotel are LED bulbs, which have an extremely long life (on the order of years), and produce no hazardous materials when discarded. They also use approximately five times less energy than conventional bulbs.

Solar Power & Tesla
As part of the renovations, we will be looking to switch to the majority of our power sourcing from solar panels and Tesla batteries. We will also be integrating Tesla electric car charging stations.

Buying Locally
Whenever possible, we buy locally-grown and produced products. Some of what you’ll enjoy at the Retreat are art and photography from Nevada artists, locally-roasted beans by Avery Coffee, baked goods provided by Mt. Charleston’s very own Cathedral Rock Bakery and custom wood work & preservation by Southern Nevada contractors.
